I went to Phantasialand in September 2005 for 2 nights after spending a few days in Cologne. This was good because we got to experience the great city and enjoy shopping and nightlife as well as going to a great theme park. When we arrived at the park we stayed at the Hotel Phantasia, a Chinese themed four star hotel seated in china town style surroundings with wonderful theming. We got talking to the hotel manager and he informed us that all the tiles and decorations in and on the hotel are imported from china and the Chinese setting was designed by Chinese experts. They had feng shui masters to put things in the right place so that every detail was authentic and not a cheap imitation. Our room was lovely and had views over the park and gardens. The hotel had a few bars that served various drinks including beautiful cocktails. Food areas in the hotel were also very good, and offered something for everyone, including a buffet style breakfast which even had a special section for the children with low counters. An indoor/outdoor pool area was well looked after and was nice to visit after the park and before dinner. There was also a sauna underneath the pool. The park had a wide range of brilliant rides and shows. My personal favourites were the Mystery Castle and Winja’s force. Staff at the park were superb and make sure you are well looked after..
